I thought it would be great for assuring myself that I am fine when I'm having a panic attack or anxiety (medical condition that I have), also I thought it would be great for my mother who had gotten sick with pneumonia and was having breathing complications and she actually ended up having to have an oxygen tank due to some medical complications.     A pulse oximeter is a medical device that indirectly monitors the oxygen saturation of a patient's blood (as opposed to measuring oxygen saturation directly through a blood sample) and changes in blood volume in the skin, producing a photoplethysmogram.
