Review for Francois et Mimi 50oz Glass French Press

               Francois et Mimi

        50oz Glass French Press

My 1st review for Tomoson is this beautiful Glass French Press from L&Z Inc. I was very excited to see I was approved for this. Not only am I a really big coffee lover, but I have never had the experience of using a french press. So here was my opportunity.

So unfortunately, the 1st time I received the product it had been damaged by the delivering party. I was very disappointed. Thank goodness the wonderful people who work at L&Z Inc. replaced it immediately after I had gotten in contact with them. They were very prompt and surprisingly I received it 2 days later, and with a lot more bubblewrap!!!

Here is my new #GlassFrenchPress:

Now, like I said this is my first time using a French Press, so I had to do some research! Thank you Google and Folgers for your assistance in this matter.

HOW-TO-USE-A-FRENCH-PRESS:

1. Make sure all parts are clean. Then add hot water to both coffee cup and french press as we will use hot, not boiling water. Boiling water could cause the glass to break. This will allow the coffee to stay warmer longer, which is the same idea as freezing beer glasses so the glasses keep beer colder longer.

2. Heat water to fairly HOT temperature, remember not to make it boiling. Proceed to pour out water that is already keeping press warm.

3. Add 8 tbsp. of any type of ground coffee to the bottom of the press. Pour in HOT water up to 1 inch from the top, the metal piece on this one is a great marker.

Stir with a plastic spoon as to not crack the glass or break it ( or just be very careful, I used a long metal spoon, but went slowly and carefully when stirring).

4. Place lid with plunger piece on top, DO NOT PUSH YET! Let it stand 5 or so minutes.

5. Slowly push plunger down, all grounds will be pushed to bottom at this point and coffee minus grounds will be above the mesh filter.

6. ENJOY!!!

Now, you know how the saying goes " Things taste better if you make it yourself" I now know this to be true. The Francois et Mimi 50 oz Glass French Press worked wonders, not only did I not rely on  my keurig or Starbucks to make my coffee, I did it myself. I have to say this is one of the best and strongest cups of coffee I've had recently, not including Espresso. I was pleasantly surprised at this easy process.

Giveaway Service Promotion- Reusable K-CUP

Excited about my 1st Giveaway Service Promotion. On www.giveawayservice.com you apply to be involved in promotions mainly for small businesses to gets reviews and their names and products out there. So I was excited to apply and be approved for this promotion.

Here is the 1st promotion I was approved for:

Refillable K-cup Reusable Coffee Filter Works In Keurig Machine Promotion

My husband and I LOVE coffee. We also love our Keurig Coffee Machine. What's better than that is occasionally we buy k-cups but we mostly use a reusable coffee filter. The ones we normally buy always break and don't last for anything. I will be excited to try and review this product. Better yet for this promotion it only cost me 10 cents. I received a promo code from  http://punainc.com to test this product and review it, so they could get feedback on their product and also get online promotion for their products. Some of the promotions are free or have a small cost associated with them such as shipping if you are not an Amazon Prime member.

It retails for $5.89 on Amazon:

What's even better is that you can try it too for a 55% discount with the coupon code: MINTHALF

That makes it $2.66 for this refillable/reusable Keurig K-Cup Filter.

According to their Amazon product page the Cup Verdi is:

  • Quick and easy to use: just fill the cup with coffee, espresso, tea or cocoa using the included scoop, place it in the single serve coffee machine pod receptacle, brew and enjoy.
  • 1-year limited manuacturer's warranty
  • For use with Keurig® Single Cup brewing systems.
  • DishWasher safe/Hand wash.
  • Reusable universal design.
So, I received my Cup Verdi, it did come in the cute little box! It is very sturdy and durable. I love the bright green color. I love the fact that it allows me to use my own coffee, which saves me money!
P.S. I LOVE TO SAVE MONEY!!!

Shared from their page:
I like to share some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) to get the most out of your Cup Verdi.
Q: Will Cup Verdi work with my machine?
A: The Cup Verdi was designed to work with the vast majority of the Keurig single cup brewers. The only machines that the Cup Verdi was not designed to function with are the B30, B130, B150 and B155.

Q: Why is my coffee coming out too weak?
A: Weak coffee is almost always a product of the coffee being ground too coarsely. Bigger coffee grinds leaves too much of the coffee that is not evenly exploited during the single serve, coffee extraction process. By reducing the size of the grind, you create more surface area in the coffee grounds and allow water to more fully exploit the richness of the bean. It is also possible that you simply don’t have enough coffee in the Cup Verdi to adequately brew the size of cup you are making.

Q: What coffee works best in an Cup Verdi?
A: The brand of coffee should not matter. However, darker roasts have more surface oils and will tend to build up quicker on the Cup Verdi screen. Medium or light roasted coffee has less surface oil and does not build up on the screen so quickly.
Many coffee connoisseurs  recommend a single origin varietal coffee. Nothing beats the unique aroma or the flavor profile of a specific bean, from a specific part of the world. “Best” is a subjective term and can only be determined by you, and for you. Isn’t that one of the things that makes coffee so great!

Q: How often should I wash my Cup Verdi?
A: The frequency of cleaning depends entirely on how many times a day the Cup Verdi is used. If you use it once a day, once a week cleaning should be sufficient. If you use the Cup Verdi multiples times per day, washing the Cup Verdi every couple of days should adequate. Although the Cup Verdi is dishwasher safe, it is seldom necessary to rely on that avenue in a normal cleaning regiment.
Hold your Cup Verdi up to the light, looking inside of the cup. If you see portions of the Cup Verdi screen that appear more opaque than the rest of the screen, it means that oils and residue have built up and need to be cleaned.
By rinsing the Cup Verdi thoroughly after each use, and immediately after brewing, your maintenance and need for dishwasher cleaning will be minimal.

Note: If you use exclusively dark roast coffee or flavored coffee in your Cup Verdi, consider cleaning it about 30% more often. Darker roasts and flavored coffee contain more surface oils than other types of coffee. Those oils can resist simple rinsing and over time harden in your Cup Verdi screen as well as the filter holder of your Keurig machine.

Disclosure: I received one or more of the products mentioned above in exchange for review from Giveaway Service website. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
